Meadowvale Go

With a completion date to be determined, The Meadowvale GO Station is a 1 Storey station and pavilion.
Address: 6845 Millcreek Drive, Mississauga, ON
Client: 4TRANSIT Joint Venture (WSP)
In 2014, the Province announced plans for Metrolinx’s Regional Express Rail (RER), which over the decade to follow, would introduce new and additional service to GO rail corridors in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. Working alongside WSP and Metrolinx, KNYMH has been involved in the development of the Milton Rail Corridor, more specifically, the Concept Design for the redevelopment of Meadowvale GO Station featuring bus service improvements, new station and pavilion as well as site improvements to the subject lands and surrounding roadways.

This design forms a prototype for the ideal station layout, to support the current corporate service model and accommodate future changes. This will form the Basis of Design for future Detailed Design and Construction, when tendered by Metrolinx. The contemporary architecture offers a consistent theme for all elements and materials that unify site components according to the design requirements of Metrolinx GO, while the building’s form is a sleek, dark and modern geometry juxtaposed by a bright, yet warm transparent element to aid in wayfinding and user comfort. Redevelopment of the site, north and south of the tracks, will improve bus services, increase parking and include multi-use paths with a strong focus on active modes of transport.
