In 2014, the Ontario government announced that Metrolinx Regional Express Rail (RER) will introduce new and additional service to GO rail corridors in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area over the next decade. KNYMH Inc. is involved in the development of the Milton Rail Corridor, this project is the expansion of the Milton GO Station. The Milton RER project features rail & bus service improvements, new station and pavilion buildings, increased parking as well as site improvements to the subject lands and surrounding roadways.

The design of the new Milton GO Station and pavilion buildings was developed in conjunction with Metrolinx to form a prototype for the optimal station layout. The solution was required to support the current corporate service model and accommodate future changes to said model.

The station site expands south of the existing Milton GO Station with a new pedestrian tunnel linking the two sites in addition to servicing a new island rail platform. Both north and south sites will feature multi-use paths with a strong focus on active modes of transport. A new bus service loop on the north site offers the community an improved GO transit and local bus service hub. The architecture of the Milton GO Station site will have a consistent scheme, contemporary architecture for all elements and materials that unify all the site components according to the Metrolinx GO design requirements image.
