Gowlings Restoration and Addition

The restoration and addition to this designated heritage structure, formerly the Bank of Montreal (1928), was completed through extensive design studies as well as close coordination with the client's timeline requirements. Historic elements of the existing building are highlighted through contrast with new, more modern construction including new building services, lobby/waiting areas, entry and elevators. Awarded the 2005 City of Hamilton Urban Design Award for Excellence in Heritage Conservation, this building has been restored to be, once again, one of Hamilton's Downtown landmarks.
