Through the RFP process KNYMH Inc. (formally KNY Architects) was selected to fulfill the role of project lead for the design and construction of Belleville’s new Fire Hall/Headquarters and Emergency Operations Centre. The project highlights included:
  • Daily operations and support services as a fire hall
  • Emergency communications and operations facility
  • Incorporating training facilities that are practical and realistic
  • ‘Combat Challenge Tower’
  • To build on an existing abandoned infill site
  • Emergency vehicle maintenance/repair bays
  • Dormitories for career fire fighters
  • Full range of value-engineering without sacrifice of operations
  • Pre-engineered structure
The completed facility includes 6 apparatus bays (3 drive thru), training (‘Combat’ Challenge Tower) and hose tower, reception, communications centre, dorms, kitchen, locker rooms, fitness centre, lounge and administration offices.
