The York Southwest District Road Maintenance Facility project consisted of design and construction of a 10,635 sq. ft. winter material storage building and associated site works.
The building is able to accommodate large front loaders and plow trucks that are capable of operating simultaneously within the building. Constructed on concrete foundations with galvanized steel framing covered by a fabric roof membrane, aluminum siding was used to provide further protection to adjacent properties and buildings.
The associated site works included regrading of the asphalt surfaces, added security gates, surface parking modifications and site lighting. The project was phased to allow continued operations during the summer and fall. KNYMH worked closely with the operations staff to create strategies to minimize impact on their operations. The site works schedule was adjusted to meet the demands of operations during regular and emergency situations.
Construction of the building was delivered on time and on budget.
