The 4,000 sq. ft. Halton Region Paramedic Services No.17 includes appropriate accommodations for a crew as well as a lounge room, kitchen, locker/change room, janitorial area, medical supplies storage rooms, male and female washrooms with shower facilities. It also houses a reports area, utility room, an IT room, electrical and mechanical room, workroom with space for a stackable washer/dryer, oxygen/linen room, a front vestibule area as well three apparatus bays. A screened outdoor patio is accessible directly from the crew lounge.
The 10,500 sq. ft. Milton Fire Station No. 5 provides fire crew accommodations including a day room, dormitory, kitchen, gender-neutral washrooms and change rooms with lockers. Other state of the art amenities include Personal Protective Clothing (PPC) storage room, PPC cleaning and maintenance area, laundry room with washers and dryers, equipment and general product storage room, public and staff washroom facilities, an IT room, captain’s office, staff office spaces, meeting rooms, a public education/training room (that also functions as the emergency operations centre (EOC)), fitness room, a front vestibule area, a hose tower, on top of three apparatus bays to house fire trucks and associated equipment. A screened outdoor patio was added as an extension of the day room.
