Oshawa Consolidated Operations Depot

The existing Works & Transportation Depot was located at 894 Ritson Road South. The city acquired three new properties, 199 Wentworth Street East, 945 Ritson and 1001 Ritson Road South with the intent that the operations depots be consolidated in one location as the new Operations Centre. The scope of work included:

199 Wentworth Street East:

• Renovation of 43,000 sq. ft. of existing offices.
• Renovation of 40,000 sq. ft. of existing warehouse.
• Site plan development to accommodate vehicle flow and parking.
• Site services including storm water management.
• Controlled access system integration.
• Pedestrian access between 199 Wentworth Street E. and 945 Ritson.
• Envelope upgrades including window replacement and partial roof replacement.

945 Ritson Road South:

• New facilities incorporating unheated storage, new fuel station and outside vehicle/material storage.
• Site plan development to accommodate vehicle flow and parking.
• Site services including storm water management.
• New parking including partial re-grading and paving.
• Exterior lighting.
• Controlled access system integration.

1001 Ritson Road South:

• New facilities incorporating new salt/brine facility, weigh scales, material bunkers, outside storage.
• Site plan development to accommodate vehicle flow and parking.
• Site services including storm water management.
• Controlled access system integration.

894 Ritson Road South:

• Alterations at the existing works depot located at 894 Ritson Road South included demolition of most buildings, material bunkers, outside storage and interior storage.
