In operation since 1859, Brinks is one of Canada's largest transportation networks, with more than 39,000 employees and 7,200 armoured trucks in over 50 different countries. Brinks is committed to providing secure transportation and money storage for their clients; and it is this commitment that required a well designed facility. The development of the new Brinks Operation Centre located in Etobicoke, Ontario meant renovating and retro-fitting an existing building to meet the needs of the Brinks security team. This design also required a high level of design detail to incorporate Brinks' many security features. Included in the design program were vehicle storage with maintenance and repair areas, operations facilities with offices, break room, washrooms, training facility and gun range, storage facilities (vaults) and the incorporation of a new emergency power generator and fuelling station.
