Richard W. LeVan Technical Development Centre Wescast Industries, located in Brantford, Ontario, is a Canadian corporation with a long history of foundry castings for furnaces and stoves. As the company has evolved, Wescast has grown to meet the demand for advanced exhaust solutions for the global automotive market. Celebrating their 110th Anniversary in 2012, Wescast is ranked among the world's leading suppliers of cast exhaust manifolds for passenger cars and light trucks. In order to provide innovative solutions through design, testing, rapid prototyping, casting, machining and assembly, Wescast invested in the design and construction of a new 36,500 sq.ft. Technical Development Centre (TDC) within which they could consolidate all of the Company's research and development, product design and diversification initiatives in one state-of-the-art facility. The building also houses a mini-foundry and a machine shop for making prototypes and for advanced engineering projects. The TDC is connected to Wescast's 69,000 sq.ft. corporate headquarters, designed and constructed on the same campus. The TDC allows Wescast to accelerate product development activities, provide advanced process development, and carry out focused and innovative research and development; keeping Wescast on the cutting edge of exhaust engineering
