The location of the former ‘Radio Arts’ building easily connects to Hamilton’s downtown offering  access to the revitalization of the downtown core which includes culture, shopping, sporting events and first class entertainment. Future LRT access is proposed along King Street that will add even greater mobility to the area.


 
The current concept will incorporate traditional and new designs to define a vibrant mixed use development. A contemporary 10 storey addition will provide 110 residential units while the existing historic component will be converted into retail and commercial spaces. The building will total 15 storeys in height and include rooftop amenities on both the fifth and fifteenth floors. The elevations will offer floor to ceiling windows as well as precast and brick at grade to create a dialogue with the contemporary form that rests on top. The parking strategy involves using an innovative ‘car stacking’ system that helps to reduce the building footprint.
